The University of Georgia Small Business Development Center (SBDC), a Public Service and Outreach unit of the University of Georgia, invites entrepreneurs to attend the 7th year of hosting the SBDC “You Want to Buy A Business? What You Need to Know” program!
Have you considered becoming a business owner by acquiring an existing business? Or do you own a business and look to expand by acquisition? We’ve helped dozens and dozens of entrepreneurs here in Middle Georgia start their journey by successfully acquiring an existing small business. The SBDC “You Want To Buy A Business? What You Need To Know” program sponsored by Synovus Bank and Spivey Pope Green, LLC Attorneys At Law, is designed to help you. Elements of the training include: Why Buy? Buying vs. Starting. Finding a Business to Buy. Is It a Good Deal? Financing the Acquisition. Instruction by SBDC Peter Williams, CFA, Senior Business Consultant and mergers and acquisitions professional; Lisa Morgan, a highly respected SBA lender with Synovus, will talk about how to finance a small business acquisition; David Pope, experienced attorney of Spivey Pope Green LLC Attorneys-At-Law, will give information on the legal pitfalls to be aware of; a panel of entrepreneurs who acquired businesses and MORE!
The program will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at UGA Small Business Development Center, 4875 Riverside Dr., Ste. 202, in Macon from 6pm – 9pm.
