As Georgia approaches the May 19 primary election, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce is reinforcing the importance of civic engagement and informed decision-making through its participation in the May Matters initiative and the release of its legislative scorecard.

May Matters is a nonpartisan effort designed to help Georgians better understand when primary elections occur, why they matter, and how to participate. With early voting underway and Election Day approaching, the Georgia Chamber is encouraging business leaders, employees, and communities across the state to make a plan to vote and stay informed on the issues shaping Georgia’s future.

Chris Clark, President & CEO of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, said:

“The Georgia Chamber is proud to support May Matters. Together, we’re encouraging Georgians and their communities to show up, stay informed, and to make their voices heard in this year’s primary because the decisions made today will shape the future of our workforce, our economy and our families.”

In addition to encouraging voter participation, the Georgia Chamber has launched its 2025-2026 legislative scorecard, a comprehensive resource designed to help business leaders and voters better understand the outcomes of the legislative session and how elected officials voted on key issues impacting Georgia’s economic competitiveness.

Developed through a member-driven process led by the Georgia Chamber’s Government Affairs Council, the scorecard highlights the most critical legislation considered under the Gold Dome and provides a clear, accessible view of how lawmakers aligned with the priorities of the state’s business community.

With hundreds of bills introduced each session, the scorecard serves as a trusted tool for tracking the policies that matter most to job creators, from workforce development and infrastructure to legal and regulatory environments.

The Georgia Chamber encourages all Georgians to take advantage of available resources, make a plan to vote, and stay engaged in the decisions shaping the state’s future.
