Georgia Farm Bureau: Empowering the Next Generation of Farmers

Thursday, July 10th, 2025

The latest USDA’s Census of Agriculture shows that less than 10% of all producers are under the age of 35. If the country doesn’t recruit new young farmers, our food supply could be at risk. Levi Davis, Georgia Farm Bureau’s Young Farmers and Ranchers Program Coordinator, describes how Georgia Farm Bureau works to empower the next generation of farmers in Georgia.

The Young Farmer and Ranchers program offers professional development, networking, and advocacy opportunities for members aged 18-35. Through events like the Summer Leadership Conference and the Washington, D.C. advocacy trip, participants gain industry knowledge and strengthen their connections within agriculture.
