The Georgia Department of Revenue will began to distribute funds from the Homeowner Tax Relief Grant program to local governments, including Houston and Peach counties, according to Governor Brian Kemp's office.

The "one-time" program gives eligible Georgia homeowners with an $18,000 reduction in the assessed value of their homesteads for the 2026 tax year. This relief is applied to homeowners' property tax bills, which will reduce the amount they owe, according to a media release.
