Houston County Golfers Tee Up Support for Children in Need

More than 300 golfers hit the course at Houston Lake Country Club over two days to help provide safety, stability and educational opportunities for children who have experienced abuse, neglect or family crises.
The Sheriff Cullen Talton Memorial Golf Tournament benefits Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes, which cares for nearly 100 children across five campuses, according to Mike Leathers with the organization.
“It's just such a wonderful cause,” one golfer said.
The fundraiser supports more than a place for children to live. The organization provides help with school and continued support after graduation, including assistance with college expenses.
