Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Wednesday, October 21st, 2026

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Georgia today unveiled its new name and brand identity, officially becoming Ronald McDonald House of Central and Southwest Georgia. The announcement marks an important milestone in the organization’s story, reflecting both its connection to a global network and its continued commitment to the families it serves throughout the region.

The new identity is part of a global brand evolution across Ronald McDonald House chapters, designed to create a more unified identity and help communities better understand the essential role these organizations play in supporting families when a child is ill or injured.

While the name and visual identity are new, the mission remains steadfast: to provide essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare.

“For us, this is about much more than a new name or logo. It is about being intentional in how we tell our story, how we serve families today, and how we prepare to meet the needs of families in the future,” said Patty Gibbs, President and CEO of Ronald McDonald House of Central and Southwest Georgia. “Our work has always been rooted in the belief that when a child needs healthcare, the family needs care, too. This new identity helps us communicate that purpose more clearly as we continue building on our legacy and looking toward the future.”

For more than two decades, Ronald McDonald House has helped families remain close to their children while they receive medical care in Macon. By providing a place to stay, essential resources, and a caring community, the organization helps ease the practical and emotional burdens families face during uncertain and often overwhelming times.

The new name more clearly reflects the chapter’s reach across Central and Southwest Georgia, including communities extending south toward the Florida border and west toward Alabama. It also reinforces the organization’s place within a global network committed to keeping families together and supporting them throughout a child’s medical journey.

The refreshed brand embraces the global tagline Family Stays. At its heart is a simple but powerful truth: when a child needs medical care, family matters. Families provide comfort, strength, familiarity, and connection when children need them most. Ronald McDonald House helps make that presence possible by removing barriers that can otherwise keep families apart. And the commitment goes beyond providing a place to stay.

Through its Ronald McDonald House in Macon and its broader chapter programs, the organization works to create an environment of comfort, care, and connection for families navigating a child’s medical journey. Its approach recognizes that supporting a child means supporting the family around that child, too.

This evolution reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to Mission in Motion—building on the strength of its history while thoughtfully aligning its people, resources, partnerships, and priorities to meet the needs of families now and in the years ahead. It is a commitment to stewardship of the community’s trust, to meaningful partnerships with healthcare providers and supporters, and to ensuring that families remain at the center of every decision.

“The name is changing to better reflect who we are and the communities we serve, but our purpose is not changing,” Gibbs said. “We are building on the foundation this community has helped create, with a responsibility to care for families today and a vision for the families who will need us tomorrow. Family Stays. And we stay with them.”

The organization’s next chapter would not be possible without the generosity and commitment of the donors, volunteers, corporate partners, healthcare professionals, and community organizations who make its work possible. Their support helps ensure that families can focus on what matters most: being together when their child needs them.

The new name and visual identity will begin appearing across the organization’s website, social media, exterior signage, printed materials, and community communications beginning October 20, 2026. The organization will continue its work without interruption as it moves forward under its new identity.
