River Edge Behavioral Health Foundation and River Edge Behavioral Health invite everyone to Steps of Hope, A Walk for Mental Health and Recovery, on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Amerson River Park in Macon, Georgia.
Mia Geiger, Director of Development at the River Edge Foundation, says, “This is a family event and a walk to not only support those still fighting mental health and substance use disorders… we want to remove the shame and embrace those who have lost someone, those who are still fighting, and celebrate those who have recovered.”
Several registration options are available. The $30 registration includes a commemorative T-shirt, and children under 12 may walk with a registered adult.
Walkers may choose between a 2-mile route and a 1.25-mile loop. Along the way, motivational signs, statistics, and thought-provoking questions will highlight the effects of mental illness and substance use disorders, as well as the often-long journey to recovery. Proceeds will support River Edge Behavioral Health programs by helping cover pharmacy co-pays, transportation, and hygiene packages for individuals in treatment. Register at
