Art and Music
Macon Arts Alliance is excited to present their October exhibit, “Art and Music,” featuring works by local painter Warren Griffin. In his time playing oboe, Warren Griffin met many fellow skilled musicians whom he greatly admired, and this experience prompted him to choose musicians and musical groups as subjects for his art, many of which are featured in “Art and Music”.

Join us for the opening reception of “Art and Music” at the Macon Arts Gallery from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm! Check out Warren Griffin’s art, enjoy complimentary drinks, and stick around until 6:00 pm to hear an exclusive Artist Talk.

“Art and Music” will be available to view from October 2 to October 30.

If You Give A Mouse A Cookie
The Grand Piedmont, in a special partnership with Theatre Macon and sponsored by M&M Unincorporated, presents If You Give A Mouse A Cookie

With a bag of cookies and a good spot in the yard to read his comic book, Boy was ready for a perfectly peaceful day. But then…Mouse came… He may be adorable, but he is full of questions. And energy. And he’s hungry. What can Boy do but give Mouse a cookie? Wouldn’t you do the same thing? But if you give a mouse a cookie, he’s going to want a glass of milk… This classic book teaches about cause and effect and several literacy concepts.

During October First Friday, a huge gallery wall at Ocmulgee Brewpub will come alive with photos of man’s best friend. In a partnership with local non-profit Abbey’s Angels, the Good Boi Gallery is raising thousands of dollars for animal rescue groups in Central Georgia. The Gallery’s official opening will be at 6:30pm October 2 at Ocmulgee Brewpub and will include an info session about Abbey’s Angels, check presentation to a local animal rescue group, food and drink specials, free pup cups for canine companions outside, and dog treats for sale inside. The photos will remain in place at Ocmulgee Brewpub for the next year. Patrons will be able to add their photos to the wall during the next year, with hopes that the Gallery will grow to 200 photos.
