County Commissioners Reject Proposed Rock Quarry in Putnam County

Putnam County commissioners voted 4-0 to reject a proposed rock quarry on Dennis Station Road after a four-hour hearing in which dozens of people spoke.
The vote came after commissioners heard arguments over the proposal from Putnam County Stone LLC. Lawyers for both sides also had 40 minutes to make their case.
Critics argued the quarry would create noise and dust, cause problems with well water and harm Lake Sinclair.
