Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) Men’s Soccer added another historic achievement to its growing legacy Sunday, Oct. 25, as the Titans men's soccer team captured the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) Region Championship with a 5-2 victory over Oxford College of Emory University at Atrium Health Field. This is the program’s first championship.

Playing in the first GCAA men's soccer championship hosted by CGTC, the Titans delivered a five-goal performance to secure the regional title and advance to the next stage of postseason competition.

The Titans wasted little time establishing control of Sunday's championship. Daniel Motino opened the scoring in the 10th minute off an assist from David Drake, and Camren Laris doubled the advantage in the 26th minute with an assist from Jackson Smith, giving CGTC a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Oxford responded in the second half with a goal from Nathan Fox in the 58th minute, but the Titans quickly answered. Motino scored his second goal of the afternoon just two minutes later, again assisted by Drake, to restore CGTC's two-goal advantage.

Oxford narrowed the margin to 3-2 in the 65th minute on another goal from Fox, but CGTC responded just two minutes later when Alexander Gardener found the back of the net off an assist from Motino. The Titans added a fifth goal to seal the 5-2 championship victory.

Motino led the Titans' offensive effort with two goals and an assist, while Drake contributed two assists. Goalkeeper Blaine Black recorded nine saves in 90 minutes, helping CGTC withstand Oxford's second-half offensive pressure.
The victory improved CGTC's overall record to 12-2-1 and capped an unbeaten run through GCAA conference competition. The Titans entered the championship with an 11-2-1 overall record and a 3-0-1 conference mark.
The championship represents another milestone in the continued growth of CGTC Athletics, bringing a regional title to Warner Robins in front of the College's home supporters.

With the regional championship secured, the Titans now turn their attention to the next round of postseason play. CGTC will travel to Sumter, South Carolina, for a playoff matchup Friday, Oct. 30, as the team continues its pursuit of postseason success beyond the GCAA. The four district region winners compete for one spot in the national tournament. CGTC will play either Daytona State or Eastern Florida State.

The upcoming contest provides another opportunity for the Titans to build on a historic season and represent Central Georgia on a larger collegiate athletics stage.
