Warner Robins Approves Higher Tax Rate, Cites Rising Costs and Delayed FLOST Revenue

Warner Robins City Council approved a property tax increase Monday night, raising the city’s millage rate to 10 mills after Mayor LaRhonda Patrick cast the deciding vote in a split council.
The vote was tied 3-3 before Patrick broke the tie in favor of the increase.
“That millage rate of 10 produces an additional $3.651 million in revenue for the general fund,” said city administrator James Drinkard.
City leaders say the increase is needed as the cost of operating and maintaining the city rises. Drinkard pointed to increases in the price of materials used for city infrastructure.
