Metro Warner Robins Unemployment Rate at 3.2% as Labor Force and Employment Grow Over the Year

The Georgia Department of Labor announced Thursday that the two-county Warner Robins Metropolitan Statistical Area’s unemployment rate rose two-tenths of a percentage point to 3.2% in August, down from 3.4% a year ago. The area’s labor force and employment also increased over the year.
“Georgia’s economy continues to deliver,” said Georgia Labor Commissioner Barbara Rivera Holmes. “Across the state, we’re seeing a strong labor force and regional growth that reflects an economy rewarding hard work, encouraging job creation and removing unnecessary barriers. As we build Georgia into a Top State for Talent, we’re creating a place where people can work, businesses can invest and communities can thrive.”
The labor force in Warner Robins was down by 46 over the month and ended August at 89,984. That number increased by 497 over the year.
Warner Robins finished August with 87,066 employed residents, down 256 over the month and up by 625 over the year.
Warner Robins ended August with 77,200 jobs, down 300 over the month and 1,600 over the year.
In August, initial unemployment claims decreased by three over the month and 24 over the year, totaling 250.
