Macon Business Owner Says Fake Georgia National Fair Account Nearly Cost Her

A Central Georgia business owner thought she had secured a spot as a vendor for the 2026 Georgia National Fair. Instead, she discovered that she had been communicating with a fake Facebook account.
Leslie Johnson, owner of Von's Turkey Legs and More, said she saw a Facebook post on Aug. 28 advertising vendor opportunities at the Georgia National Fair and was interested in participating.
“I seen this post on Facebook about the Georgia National Fair was taking applications for food vendors, and since I own Von’s Turkey Legs and More, I decided to apply,” Johnson said.
The next morning, Johnson said she received an application approval that appeared to come from the Georgia National Fair.
