Historic Macon Foundation Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Fall Flea Market Fundraiser

Historic Macon Foundation is celebrating a landmark milestone this autumn as its beloved Fall Flea Market turns 50. For five decades, the annual event has drawn bargain hunters, antique collectors, and treasure seekers from across Middle Georgia to shop curated, second-hand items in support of historic preservation.
The 50th Anniversary Fall Flea Market will take place at 357 Oglethorpe Street, Macon, GA 31201, kicking off with an exclusive ticketed Preview Party on Friday, October 2 with VIP Shopping from 5pm to 6pm followed by general ticketed admission from 6-8pm, and continuing with free public shopping days on Saturday, October 3 from 9am to 4pm, and Sunday, October 4 from 12pm to 4pm. Historic Macon Foundation members receive 15% off their regularly priced purchases.
The Flea Market features thousands of donated goods spanning multiple warehouse sections, including furniture, home décor, artwork, vintage linens, kitchenware, garden tools, and collectibles. 83 cents of every dollar spent at the Flea Market directly benefit Historic Macon’s mission of revitalizing communities by preserving architecture and sharing history.
“The Flea Market has been a beloved community tradition for 50 years thanks to our dedicated Flea Market volunteers,” said Emily Hopkins, executive director of Historic Macon Foundation. “This is our largest fundraiser and it has become the go-to place for community members to donate their unneeded treasures so that they can find a second-life and a good home for the next generation.”
Tickets for the Friday night Preview Party can be purchased in advance at historicmacon.org. Admission to the Saturday and Sunday sale days is free and open to the public.
