Anita McCormick was born at Taylor Regional Hospital's old location.
Six years ago, she moved back to her hometown. But when she needed the emergency room a few months ago, she couldn't get treated there — she had to go to Cochran instead.
"It's really important," McCormick said of the hospital. "I had to go to the emergency room a few months ago and we had to go to Cochran because there was nobody out here to take you in, and it's a small town and we need a hospital."
