Putnam County T-SPLOST Spending Reveals Multi-Million Dollar Deficit, County Manager Says - What We Know

Former Putnam County Commission Chair Billy Webster is calling for greater transparency after raising questions about spending from the county’s Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, or T-SPLOST.
Webster said he filed an open records request to get a feel of how the county was doing financially. In the process, he discovered the deficit.
“It appeared that the expenditures were exceeding what I thought was going to be the revenue coming in,” Webster said. “And I brought that to the attention of the board of commissioners and the interim county manager.”
