The Georgia Chamber Foundation today released its new Career Track Profiles, a workforce resource designed to help students, educators, employers, workforce professionals, and policymakers better understand career opportunities available in Georgia's fastest-growing industries.

The inaugural Occupational Profiles: All Career Tracks highlight six in-demand occupations that are essential to Georgia's economic competitiveness: aircraft mechanics and service technicians, electrical engineers, electrical power-line installers and repairers, electricians, industrial engineers, and machinists. Each profile provides a detailed overview of the occupation, including required education and credentials, salary expectations, projected job outlook, key skills, and career advancement opportunities.

"Utilizing the state’s first unified High Demand Career List, our team was able to develop an actionable tool to guide students and job seekers with the next steps to find employment in our fastest growing, high demand careers. This resource highlights the numerous paths that can be taken whether the individual is a high school student or an adult making a career shift and aids Georgia businesses in filling their greatest talent needs.”  

Developed through the GeorgiaLAUNCH initiative of the Georgia Chamber Foundation's Center for Workforce & Talent Preparedness, the report serves as a practical guide for connecting Georgians to rewarding careers while helping employers build the skilled workforce needed to support continued economic growth. By combining labor market information with career planning resources, the publication helps Georgians make informed decisions about education, technical training, apprenticeships, certifications, and employment opportunities.

GeorgiaLAUNCH is a two-year project aimed at bolstering the workforce pipeline for high demand careers. These six occupations highlighted in the profiles are a few of the state’s top high demand careers with significant upward mobility in numerous communities across the state. This research also includes a skills overlap analysis among these six occupations, creating new opportunities for streamlined training and upskilling.

The GeorgiaLAUNCH report dives deeper into this analysis as well as policy solutions and employer insights on this topic, GeorgiaLAUNCH builds upon the Georgia Chamber Foundation's growing body of workforce research and support the goals of GEORGIA | 2050, the Chamber's long-term strategic plan to ensure Georgia remains the best state in the nation to live, work, and do business.
