Macon Arts Alliance is proud to present their September show, “In Tandem”, featuring works by husband-and-wife painter duo Jeff and Laura Surace. Together, Jeff and Laura create artwork inspired by the natural world, celebrating the enduring connection between people, place, and light.

“In Tandem” will be available to view from September 4 to September 25.

Dubbed “masters of soulful folk” by Paste, The Wood Brothers formed after brothers Chris and Oliver Wood pursued separate musical careers for 15 years. Chris already had legions of devoted fans for his incomparable work as one-third of Medeski Martin & Wood, while Oliver’s band King Johnson built a loyal following in the South. With drummer Jano Rix added as a permanent third member, The Wood Brothers have evolved into one of roots music’s most revered acts, playing sold out shows across North America, garnering a Grammy Award nomination and releasing nine studio albums, including their forthcoming release, Puff of Smoke, out August 1.
The Wood Brothers have partnered with American Friends of Canadian Conservation so that $1 per ticket will support The Nature Trust of British Columbia (NTBC) in their efforts to conserve ecologically-rich wetlands and protect irreplaceable land from development. Every $1 donated will be matched by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service with $2 so more endangered wetlands can be saved. If you’d like to learn more, please visit this link.

Learn to create a watercolor painting in a fun, relaxed setting. No experience required. Bring a beverage of your choice to sip on while you paint. Award-winning artist, Scott Serafy, will guide you through the steps to paint one of various subjects (florals, cityscapes, landscapes, still lifes). We are in our third year of offering these paint-and-sips!
August’s subject will be a beach scene in the style of the picture(s) shown here. $30 includes all materials for the class. The workshop starts at 7pm and goes for 2 hours. There are 10 spots available for the class.

Corks & Canvas is a fun, beginner-friendly painting workshop where you can relax and hang out with friends while a local artist teaches you how to recreate a beautiful painting. No painting experience required. Bring a beverage of your choice to sip on while you paint. The cost is $30, and includes all materials for an 11 x 14 painting (or $35 for a 16 x 20 painting). The workshops start at 7 pm and lasts two and a half hours. On August 29, our instructor will teach a painting of late summer-time apple picking.
