Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Two years ago, Byron announced plans for its first-ever skatepark at the site of the old Byron Elementary School. Now, that project is nearly complete.

Final concrete pours are scheduled for Aug. 10-14, with installation crews from American Ramp Company arriving Aug. 20 to install the facility's mini ramp. If construction stays on schedule, the park could welcome its first skaters by the end of August.

The project, funded by a $250,000 grant from the National Park Service through the Land and Water Conservation Fund, has remained on budget throughout the two-year construction process, according to city officials.
