Bibb Board of Education President Discusses How School Leaders Will Move Forward on Consolidation Talks

After an emotional and packed Monday meeting, Bibb school leaders are no closer to decisions on possible school consolidation.
The board was not planning to take any action on closures Monday, but the board and members of the community shared their opposition to some of the early plans.
The district is sitting in a multi-million dollar budget deficit, and is looking to consolidate to help save money. When they passed their budget, the board agreed to start early talks about consolidating at least two elementary schools.
