Connected Through Art & Heart
Creative Pathways is a collaborative arts program and studio partnership between The Arc Macon and Artspace Macon, created to empower artists with autism, developmental disabilities, and other neurodivergent experiences to explore, develop, and share their creative voices. This exhibition celebrates the unique perspectives, talents, and achievements of Creative Pathways artists through a diverse collection of paintings, ceramics, prints, and mixed-media works. The exhibition reflects the power of art as a means of self-expression, connection, and community engagement. A valued partnership with Macon Arts Alliance has further enriched the program by connecting artists with local and visiting teaching artists who share new techniques, creative experiences, and opportunities for growth.
Join us for the opening reception of “Connected Through Art & Heart” on Friday, July 10 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm! Plus, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm, you can meet the artists and the minds behind The Arc Macon and Artspace Macon!

Directed by Sophy Romvari
Summary – In the late 1990s, eight-year-old Sasha and her Hungarian immigrant family relocate to a new home on Vancouver Island. Their fresh start is interrupted by increasingly dangerous behavior from Jeremy, the family’s oldest child. The film then jumps forward two decades as adult Sasha pieces together his tragic past.
Review Excerpts:
The New York Times: An exquisite debut feature.
Variety: Sophy Romvari‘s graceful, singularly heartsore debut feature has a sharp understanding of how memories form and age: Often, it’s the incidental, ambient details you recall as vividly as the more significant events at hand.
The Wrap: A film whose quietly flooring opening frames a vast landscape becoming home to a compassionate story of a Hungarian-Canadian family navigating an uncertain world together, already signals it as a major work; writer/director Sophy Romvari’s intimate and incisive Blue Heron only grows even greater from there.

The Taste of Freedom
Join us every 2nd Tuesday of the month at Historic Grant’s Lounge for an open mic Storytelling event – 10 years and going strong!
Freedom isn’t free, but it also isn’t built by one kind of service alone.
Some serve in uniform. Some serve through public service, volunteer work, advocacy, teaching, caregiving, mentorship, or simply showing up for the people around them.
Every day, people make sacrifices, big and small, that help strengthen our communities and create opportunities for others. This month, we’re sharing stories about the many ways freedom is supported, protected, and passed forward.
Who has sacrificed for your freedom? How have you contributed to someone else’s? What acts of service, courage, or kindness have shaped your understanding of what freedom means?
Join us as we celebrate the people behind the promise and explore the many ways we all help write America’s story.
Join us every 2nd Tuesday of the month at Historic Grant’s Lounge.
