'This Building Represents Our Future' - Macon Breaks Ground on New Arena

The sound of a marching band echoed across the grounds Tuesday as Macon-Bibb County officials, community members and students gathered to break ground on a new arena that leaders say will carry the county into its next chapter.
For nearly 60 years, the Macon Coliseum has hosted graduations, concerts and championship games, becoming a fixture of memory for generations of families in Central Georgia. Now, that legacy is about to be passed on.
