A Veteran Village Could be Coming to Milledgeville to Combat Homelessness - Here's Where

A nonprofit is working to bring a new housing option to veterans in Milledgeville as homelessness among former service members remains a concern nationwide.
According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, more than 32,000 veterans are homeless across the country, including 646 in Georgia.
Mighty Hero Homes plans to build a veteran village on the former Central State Hospital campus near Milledgeville. The proposed development would include 84 one- and two-bedroom homes, along with a community center designed to support veterans transitioning back to stable living.
