'Public Safety is Pur No. 1 priority' - Dublin Leaders Invest $10 Million to Combat Recent Gun Crime Spike

Dublin City leaders are taking aim at a recent spike in gun crimes, pouring millions into new technology and increased patrols to keep neighborhoods safe.
The Dublin Police Department said several arrests have already been made as authorities work to crack down on criminal activity and restore peace to impacted neighborhoods.
On June 2, 2026, the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Dontavis Lovett, 18, of Dublin, a suspect connected to shootings in the Vinson Village area.
Lovett, according to officials, was apprehended in Charleston, South Carolina and is being transported back to Laurens County. Two additional suspects connected to incidents on May 17 and May 25 have also been arrested and are currently in jail awaiting further charges.
