Monroe County Approves Town Creek Road Rezoning for Light Manufacturing

A weeks-long debate over a rezoning request on Town Creek Road came to an end Tuesday night when Monroe County commissioners unanimously approved the proposal, clearing the way for nearly 19 acres to be rezoned from agricultural-residential to light manufacturing.

The property has been owned by the Dumas family since 1950. Family representative Jesse Dumas told county leaders the request was intended to bring the property's zoning in line with surrounding uses and make the land more marketable.
