Metro Warner Robins Reports 2.9% Unemployment Rate in May

The Georgia Department of Labor announced Thursday that the two-county Warner Robins Metropolitan Statistical Area recorded an unemployment rate of 2.9% in May, up three-tenths of a percentage point over the month. A year ago, the rate was 3.0%.

The labor force in Warner Robins was down by 187 over the month and ended May at 89,864. That number decreased by 88 over the year. 

Warner Robins finished May with 87,233 employed residents, down 520 over the month and 11 over the year. 

Warner Robins ended May with 77,600 jobs, down 600 over the month and 2,000 over the year. 

In May, initial unemployment claims decreased by 11 over the month and 37 over the year, totaling 237.
