'It's Like a Family Here' The Rookery Celebrates 50 Years of Business as Community Hub in Macon

For nearly five decades, The Rookery has been serving up more than burgers in Downtown Macon. Since opening on July 1, 1976, the restaurant has become a gathering place where food, music history and community come together.
Customers still line up for the restaurant's signature burgers.
"Today I'm eating a burger, as you can tell. It's really good," Roniesa Moore says.
