City of Perry Fire Conducting Hydrant Flushing - Here's What to Know

If you see water gushing out of a hydrant in parts of Perry early in June, don't be alarmed.
The City of Perry announced on Monday that they'll be doing routine fire hydrant flushing across the community the first week of June.
According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, fire hydrant flushing is done by teams like the City of Perry's Fire & Emergency Services crews to make sure the water in the fire hydrants is flowing properly. Additionally, it allows them to check the quality of the water, avoiding any issues if the time calls for those fire hydrants to be used.
