Perry Neighbors Back Annexation, Fight Townhome Rezoning

A proposal to annex and rezone nearly 20 acres off Airport Road Extension into the city of Perry is drawing mixed reactions from people who live nearby. Some neighbors support bringing the property into the city, but they are pushing back on plans for more than 100 townhomes on the land.
“When are we gonna stop this?" asked Clay Nodes, a resident of Airport Road Extension. "When are we gonna look at this land use map and say, ‘You know what, we’ve tied our hands to the point we’re tripping on ourselves.’”
