Neel's Lofts held its ribbon cutting ceremony at 462 Cherry Street today, officially welcoming the public into a space that has been turning heads since construction began. Joined by NewTown Macon and the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce, the Neel's Lofts team opened its doors to community members, local leaders, and prospective residents ready to see what luxury loft living in downtown Macon looks like up close.

Neel's Lofts is a new construction community developed by H2 Capital and built by Piedmont Construction Group, bringing 95 luxury loft residences to the heart of downtown, alongside an on-site coworking space, two retail spaces, and one restaurant space. NewTown Macon served as a key community partner in bringing the project to life. Residential units are move-in ready today. The coworking space and retail and restaurant spaces are also available for lease now, making Neel's Lofts a full live-work destination at the center of the city.

"Downtown Macon has been on the rise for years, and I think a lot of people are starting to feel it," said James Fritze, President and CEO of NewTown Macon. "Neel's Lofts is the kind of project that gives people a reason to plant roots here. We have been working toward a downtown where people do not just visit, they stay. Today is proof that we are getting there."

Robbo Hatcher, developer and principal at H2 Capital, has had his eye on Macon for a long time. "I have believed in this city for a long time, and this project is a reflection of that," said Hatcher. "We built something here that Macon deserves, a place where people can live well right in the middle of everything they love about this city. Seeing it come to life today makes every bit of the work worth it."

Mark Lumsden, Project Manager at Piedmont Construction Group, spoke to what it took to get there. "This was a labor of love for our team," Lumsden said. "New construction in a downtown environment comes with its own set of challenges, and our crew showed up for every one of them. We are proud of what we built, and we are even prouder to hand the keys over to a community that has been ready for this."
