The street sweeper came through first. Then the fire truck. Then the police officers, knocking on doors and chatting with neighbors on their front porches.
It wasn't an emergency. It was Rock the Block.
For the second year, the city of Dublin sent workers from nearly every city department into a residential neighborhood Wednesday, hauling off bulk trash, painting fire hydrants, checking smoke detectors and helping residents set up a neighborhood watch program — all in one concentrated effort to revitalize a community from the inside out.
