OrthoGeorgia Surgery Center has been named one of the
2026 Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers by U.S. News & World Report, recognizing its commitment to delivering exceptional patient outcomes and safety in outpatient surgical care.

Out of more than 4,400 facilities evaluated nationwide, OrthoGeorgia Surgery Center (dba Macon Outpatient Surgery) earned distinction in the following specialty areas:

Orthopedics and Spine.
U.S. News’ ratings are designed to help patients, in consultation with their physicians, make informed decisions about where to receive outpatient surgical care based on a proven track record of excellence in quality and clinical outcomes. In partnership with Arcadia, the 2026 evaluation analyzed objective, risk-adjusted measures, including:

-Successful avoidance of post-procedural complications
-Low rates of emergency room visits and unplanned hospitalizations

The analysis accounted for patients’ pre-existing conditions and other risk factors to ensure fair comparisons across facilities. Only about 21–22% of evaluated centers nationwide earned a Best Ambulatory Surgery Center or “High Performing” designation.

Top-performing ambulatory surgery centers in orthopedics and spine reported 29% fewer complications, reinforcing that many procedures—including joint replacements and complex orthopedic surgeries—can be performed safely in an outpatient setting.
Patients also benefit from returning home the same day, supporting a more convenient and comfortable recovery experience.

“This recognition reflects our team’s unwavering focus on patient safety, clinical excellence, and delivering outstanding outcomes,” said Lynn Johnson, RN, Director of OrthoGeorgia Surgery Center. “We are proud to offer advanced outpatient surgical care that allows our patients to recover at home while receiving the highest level of orthopedic expertise.”

As more surgical care continues to shift to outpatient settings, ambulatory surgery centers are playing an increasingly important role in the healthcare experience. This recogition highlights OrthoGeorgia’s leadership in providing high-quality, patient-centered surgical care in Central Georgia.

In 2025, OrthoGeorgia treated patients from 147 of Georgia’s 159 counties, and its surgery center performs more than 7,000 procedures annually. OrthoGeorgia Surgery Center earned the prestigious Advanced Orthopaedic Certification from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) for Total Joint Replacements and Complex Spine Procedures.
