United Way of Central Georgia Invites Community to Dine Out for a Cause on May 14

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Tuesday, April 7th, 2026

United Way of Central Georgia (UWCG) is proud to announce United We Dine for Brookdale, a community-wide dining fundraiser taking place on Thursday, May 14, 2026. The event partners with restaurants, coffee shops, sweet shops, food trucks, and other local businesses across UWCG's 19-county service area to raise critical funds for the Brookdale Resource Center, which serves families, individuals, and children experiencing homelessness.

About the Event
United We Dine for Brookdale is a full-day community event encouraging residents throughout Central Georgia to enjoy a meal — breakfast, lunch, or dinner — at a participating local establishment. A portion of every participating vendor's proceeds from the day will be donated directly to the Brookdale Resource Center, providing pathways to stability for community members in need.
The Brookdale Resource Center provides critical resources and wraparound support designed to help unhoused individuals and families move toward lasting financial stability.

How to Participate
For Restaurants and Vendors: Food establishments across the 19-county region are invited to partner with UWCG by pledging a donation from their total daily sales — many participating vendors choose to contribute 15% or more. In return, participating businesses will receive promotion in UWCG's newsletter, logo placement and promotion on UWCG's website and social media platforms, and inclusion in media promotions.

For Community Members: Residents are encouraged to visit participating restaurants and vendors throughout the day. Every meal purchased helps fund services that connect homeless families with the resources they need.
On Social Media: Community members are invited to share photos of their dining experience by tagging @UnitedWayCG and using the hashtag #UnitedWeDineForBrookdale across all social media platforms.

A Call to Action
“United We Dine for Brookdale is a powerful reminder that when our community comes together, real change is possible,” said Carl Tims, President and CEO of United Way of Central Georgia. “Whether you’re a restaurant owner ready to give back or a family looking for a great meal, we invite everyone to be a part of this day.”
Restaurants and vendors interested in participating can download the sign-up form at www.unitedwaycg.org/UnitedWeDineForBrookdale. A list of participating locations will be posted on the website as confirmed businesses are added.
