Red Cross Urges Middle Georgia to Prepare as South Georgia Wildfires Burn

Wildfires are burning across south Georgia, and the American Red Cross says now is the time for Middle Georgians to prepare.
Officials say having a plan in place before an emergency can make the difference between life and death. They are encouraging families to think ahead about what they would need if forced to evacuate.
Suzanne Lawler, regional communications manager with the Red Cross, says preparation starts with having a clear plan that works for the entire household.
