Bibb Leaders Move Forward with Plans to Address 17 Blighted Properties

Macon-Bibb leaders are taking another step towards fighting blight.

On Tuesday commissioners agreed to move forward with plans to acquire 17 properties they've identified as "blighted." The county cited use of eminent domain, or the right of a government to acquire private property for public use as long as the owner receives compensation. The county plans to turn those properties into affordable housing.
