Macon Ranks Among Highest Foreclosure Rates in U.S., New Report Finds

Macon is among the areas with the highest foreclosure rates in the country, according to a new housing market report.
Data released by ATTOM shows the Macon metro area had one foreclosure filing for every 492 housing units in the first quarter of 2026, placing it among the highest rates nationwide.
The statistical metro area traditionally includes Bibb, Crawford, Jones, Monroe, and Twiggs Counties.
