Harness Racing Festival Draws Community Support in Hawkinsville

Saturday morning started with horses in their stalls, waiting for qualifying races later in the day at the Hawkinsville Harness Festival. These races determine which horses can compete for prize money in upcoming events.
Harness racing is when a horse can go up to 35 miles per hour. Hawkinsville has a training center where people come down and train during the cold season.
