Navicent Health Foundation and Atrium Health Levine Children’s Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital unveiled a new playroom, generously funded by Chick-fil-A Middle Georgia, during a ribbon cutting celebration on Wednesday.
Located just outside a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) entrance, the playroom offers siblings of NICU patients and children receiving care in other parts of the hospital an opportunity to laugh, play, and take a break.
“Spaces designed just for kids matter so much – both for the children and for their families,” said Atrium Health Navicent President Rashard Johnson. “We’re grateful for Chick-fil-A of Middle Georgia for helping to provide this space and giving children a place to just be kids.”
Money raised through Chick-fil-A’s “Cookies for Kids promotion” helped raise funds to make this space possible.
"Chick-fil-A Middle Georgia is honored to partner with our community to support the incredible work happening at the children’s hospital,” said Steven Franklin, Chick-fil-A Byron operator. “Through our Cookies for Kids promotion, our guests helped turn something as simple as enjoying a cookie into a space where children and their families can play, relax, and find a little joy during their hospital stay.”
Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital is central and south Georgia’s only dedicated pediatric hospital. In addition to offering the region’s only 24/7 pediatric emergency room, a range of inpatient and outpatient services are provided by pediatric specialists.
