Salvation Army Provides Meals to Marshallville Residents After Tornado Damage

The Salvation Army assisted residents in Marshallville after an EF2 tornado caused significant damage early Thursday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, the tornado touched down near Marshallville at approximately 6:41 a.m., with winds estimated between 110 and 115 miles per hour. The storm carved a path nearly five miles long and about 600 yards wide through parts of Macon County.

The Salvation Army responded after officials said the tornado destroyed four manufactured homes, overturned another, and ripped the tops from two silos. Numerous trees were also snapped and uprooted. Two people were injured.
