Tuesday, March 17th, 2026

The Milledgeville-Baldwin County Chamber of Commerce is proud to host the 2026 National Civics Bee® on Friday, March 27, at 9:00 a.m. at Central Georgia Technical College – Milledgeville Campus. This year’s event is made possible through the support of Title Sponsors, Tri-County EMC and Tri-CoGo.

Now in its third year, this annual competition—presented in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation—encourages young Americans to engage in civics and become active members of their communities.

This year, the Chamber received more than 80 student applications. From those submissions, the top 20 essays have been selected, and those students will advance to compete in the live event.Participants will showcase their civics knowledge and present ideas on how to address challenges in their local communities.

"The National Civics Bee is a fantastic opportunity for students to develop a deeper understanding of our government, their role as citizens, and how they can make a difference in their communities," said Kara Lassiter, President & CEO of the Milledgeville-Baldwin County Chamber. "We are proud to host this event for the third year and continue inspiring the next generation of engaged leaders."

The top three students will advance to the state-level competition, where they will compete against top performers from across Georgia.
