Middle and high school students in Macon-Bibb County will have an opportunity to explore what’s next after graduation at the Education, Career, & Military Ready Fair on Saturday, March 28, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Recreation Center (2465 Second Street).

This is the second year the Memorial Park Recreation Center will hold the Fair, bringing together representatives from colleges, universities, military branches, and entrepreneurial organizations for a one-day networking and informational fair.

An education fair is designed to give prospective students and their parents or guardians the chance to meet directly with representatives from a variety of institutions and organizations. Through those conversations, students learn more about academic programs, career pathways, military service opportunities, and entrepreneurship options available to them after completing their K–12 education.

“The overall goal of our event is to present to students’ opportunities available so that they can move forward and begin to prepare for their future careers and realization of educational and career goals,” says Memorial Park Coordinator Tameka Phillips.

Phillips says they are especially focused on reaching middle and high school students throughout the Middle Georgia region, including those who may be underprivileged or uncertain about what they want to pursue after high school.

By introducing students to a wide range of possibilities in one place, the event aims to inspire them to think critically about their futures and recognize the pathways available to them.

Several organizations have already confirmed their participation, including those featured on the event flyer below. Additional vendors are expected to join, with a finalized list available in early March.

Students and families are encouraged to attend the free event, ask questions, gather information, and take the first steps toward building a plan for life after graduation.
