Wednesday, March 18th, 2026

Two cardiologists who are highly regarded in the Middle Georgia medical community have joined the Piedmont Heart Institute.

Zoe Jones, M.D., and Amy Kingman, M.D., have 65 years of clinical experience in the midstate between them. They joined Piedmont Heart at Lakeside Commons in Macon on March 16.

Their arrival, along with other recent hires to bolster Piedmont’s heart program in Macon, demonstrates Piedmont’s commitment to expanding access to comprehensive and high-quality cardiac care for the community.

Both cardiologists have deep roots in Middle Georgia. Dr. Jones was born in Macon and has been practicing as a cardiologist in Middle Georgia since 1984. Her present focus is on coronary artery disease and cardiomyopathy with attention to hypertension and hyperlipidemia.

Dr. Jones completed medical school at Cornell University Medical College in New York and was fellowship trained in cardiology at St. Luke’s Hospital Center in New York.

Like Dr. Jones, Dr. Kingman has served midstate residents for decades. She has been practicing locally for 23 years and focuses on prevention and treatment of heart disease with an emphasis on lipid management, nuclear cardiology and lower extremity venous disease.

Dr. Kingman received her medical degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore and completed her residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Kingman is fellowship trained in adult cardiology.

Stephen J. Daugherty, CEO of Piedmont Macon Medical Center and Piedmont Macon North Hospital, said Dr. Jones and Dr. Kingman joining Piedmont Heart Institute provides greater depth to the services Piedmont offers in Macon.

“I’m excited because our patients will benefit from the high level of care and expertise these two cardiologists bring to the table,” Daugherty said. “I’m pleased they have joined the Piedmont family and look forward to the positive impact they will most certainly make.”

Piedmont Heart at Lakeside Commons is located at 6010 Lakeside Commons Drive in Macon. The office can be reached by calling 478.200.8152. Both Dr. Jones and Dr. Kingman are accepting new patients, and most major insurance plans are accepted.
