Central Georgia Technical College Students Excel at SkillsUSA Competition

 Students from Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) competed with outstanding skill and dedication at the recent SkillsUSA competition, earning multiple medals and representing the college with excellence across several technical disciplines.

SkillsUSA is a national organization that champions career and technical education by empowering students to become skilled professionals, career-ready leaders, and responsible community members. Participation in the competition highlights the strong technical training and hands-on experience students receive at Central Georgia Technical College.

The following students earned recognition for their achievements:

  • James Holtsclaw – Computer Programming – Bronze Medal
  • Adam Thorton – Commercial Roofing – Gold Medal
  • Conner Hill – Cabinet Making – Gold Medal
  • Mandy Johnson – Computer Programming – Silver Medal
  • Shelton Horton – Commercial Roofing – Bronze Medal
  • Tyren Tyler – Dental Assistant – Bronze Medal

“These accomplishments reflect the dedication of our students and the exceptional instruction provided by our faculty,” said SkillsUSA club advisor and program chair for Business Management, Brione Burrows. “Competitions like SkillsUSA allow students the opportunity to demonstrate the high-level skills they are developing while preparing for careers in high-demand industries.”
