Reimagining the Civic Commons (RCC) Macon is opening applications for a new Pleasant Hill mini grant, a $600 funding opportunity designed to bring Pleasant Hill’s public spaces to life through neighborhood-led activities.

The mini grant is a pilot program aimed to purchase equipment and supplies needed to host at least three activities that activate public spaces in Pleasant Hill. These activities are intended to bring neighbors together, promote fairness and inclusion, care for the environment, and support local economic opportunity in Macon-Bibb County.

Applications are open now and must be submitted by February 15, 2026. Grant recipients will be announced on February 20, 2026, following an application review by the RCC team.

The grant is open to individuals, nonprofit organizations, and small businesses.

While preference will be given to current and longtime Pleasant Hill residents and community members, anyone interested in creating meaningful, place-based activities in the neighborhood is encouraged to apply.

Each $600 mini grant may be used to purchase equipment or supplies needed to host the proposed activities. Up to 20 percent of the grant (or $120) may also be used to help cover basic administrative costs.

Pleasant Hill was selected for this mini grant opportunity because of its long-standing involvement with RCC and its early support of intentional public space investment. RCC has worked alongside the Pleasant Hill neighborhood, including the Pleasant Hill Neighborhood Organization, on multiple public-space-focused projects since joining the RCC network in 2020.

This mini grant builds on that foundation by supporting simple, neighborhood-led activations that strengthen community life and encourage shared use of public spaces.

Applications are scored on RCC’s 4 focus areas: community engagement, equity, environmental sustainability, economic sustainability.

Macon’s Reimagining Civic Commons efforts are made possible through support from the Knight Foundation, the Freedom Together Foundation, The Kresge Foundation, and the William Penn Foundation.
