On Thursday, February 12, Mayor Lester Miller hosted the first Council of Clergy Luncheon of the year Middle Georgia State University. He updated the clergy on the efforts of Macon-Bibb County and what is to come.

“Hosting our first Council of Clergy Luncheon of the year is an opportunity to listen, connect, and recommit to working side by side,” said Mayor Miller. “Our clergy play a vital role in meeting people where they are, and these conversations help us align our efforts to make a real difference across Macon-Bibb County.”

Mayor Miller talked with the Council of Clergy of the completed, ongoing, and planned projects in Macon-Bibb. That included Paving the Way, bite Brookdale Resource Center, neighborhood outreach efforts, and new facilities like the Amphitheater, Arena, and Convention Center. He also was able to have an in-depth conversation with them about the needs of their neighborhoods and the reason projects were identified and how they were helping.

The Council of the Mayor’s Clergy is centered on its purpose of “Building a Better Community.” Its vision is to “Promote Unity in the Community by Partnering with Government and Related Agencies,” and its mission is to “Build a Better Community by Fostering Healthy Racial Relations.”
