Piedmont has expanded access to primary care in Macon with the opening of Piedmont Primary Care at Macon Medical. It marks Piedmont’s third primary care facility in Macon and fourth in Middle Georgia.

The new office is located at 310 Hospital Drive, Suite 205, inside Building B at Piedmont Macon Medical Center.

Primary care providers, including doctors and advanced practice practitioners, are important in helping manage the overall health of patients. PCPs have a wide range of responsibilities including regular checkups, developing plans to help prevent diseases, coordinating care, and diagnosing and treating illnesses, injuries, and other health conditions.

“The opening of this new primary care office on the Piedmont Macon Medical Center campus represents another important step in strengthening access to high-quality care,” said Stephen J. Daugherty, Piedmont Macon’s CEO. “As our fourth primary care practice to open in Middle Georgia in the past year, it reflects our continued investment in a growing network of primary care offices dedicated to the long-term wellness of our community.”

Gorby Leon, M.D., is now accepting new patients at the new location. Dr. Leon earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia and is board-certified in family medicine. Dr. Leon treats various acute and chronic conditions in patients age 16 and up, including hypertension, diabetes, obesity, hypothyroidism, coronary artery disease, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, COPD, anxiety, depression, and migraines. He is Haitian American and speaks both English and Creole.

Since early 2025, Piedmont has continued to expand primary care options in Middle Georgia. Piedmont previously opened Piedmont Primary Care at Russell Parkway, Piedmont Primary Care at Charter Blvd., and Piedmont Primary Care at Bass Road. Providers at those locations also are accepting new patients.
