Metro Warner Robins Sees December Drop in Unemployment Rate

The Georgia Department of Labor announced Thursday that the two-county Warner Robins Metropolitan Statistical Area recorded an unemployment rate of 2.8%, down eight-tenths over the month. A year ago, the rate was 2.9%.
“In December, more Georgians were working and unemployment dropped across every area in the state,” said Georgia Labor Commissioner Bárbara Rivera Holmes. “Looking ahead in 2026, we remain committed to creating pathways to in-demand careers, supporting businesses with the talent they need, and making sure every Georgian can turn these employment gains into meaningful opportunity.”
The labor force in Warner Robins increased by 317 over the month and ended December at 89,484. That number declined by 82 from December 2024.
Warner Robins finished December with 86,935 employed residents, up by 948 over the month and down by 58 from December 2024.
Warner Robins ended December with 79,000 jobs, up 100 over the month and down by 1,000 from December 2024.
In December, initial unemployment claims increased by 126 from the previous month and increased by 42 from the same month a year ago, totaling 312.
