Macon Leaders Urge Georgia Lawmakers to Boost Historic Tax Credits for Downtown Revival

Macon-Bibb county leaders and preservation advocates are urging Georgia lawmakers to expand the state’s historic rehabilitation tax credit program, saying the move is critical to sustaining downtown revitalization and protecting historic neighborhoods across the city.
House Bill 376 would increase the statewide cap on historic rehabilitation tax credits from $30 million to $50 million a year.
