A View From One Eye
Macon Arts Alliance is happy to present their January exhibit, “A View From One Eye”, with works by Kimberly and Michael Gillies. Together, this Husband-and-Wife duo presents a vivid tribute to the Scottish landscape and creative spirit of its people. Kimberly and Michael capture a shared journey of creative expressions in watercolor, drawing, mixed-media painting, and photography.

"The Veil" Opening Reception
Join us for the opening of “The Veil,” an exhibit of photography by Jaey Fawkes. This dramatic and deeply personal exhibit is the culmination of a series of photos created at various locations across the country featuring models in masks. Each mask used in the photos was handcrafted by Indra Schaper, an artist in the Netherlands. Some of the masks will also be on exhibit.

On January 9, you can see the new exhibit, meet the artist and enjoy light refreshments sponsored by Sherri & Randy Goss. The reception is 5-8 pm. There will be an artist talk at 7:10 pm, with Q & A to follow. The artist talk will include mature and sensitive content, and it is not advised for audiences under the age of 18 to be in attendance.

Exhibit on display through January 30. The gallery is open Monday-Friday, 11 am-4 pm.

MET Opera Live in HD: Vincenzo Bellini I PURITANI
I Puritani
Composer- Bellini

OVERVIEW
For gorgeous melody, spellbinding coloratura, and virtuoso vocal fireworks, I Puritani has few equals. The curtain goes up on the first new Met production of Bellini’s final masterpiece in nearly 50 years—a striking staging by Charles Edwards, who makes his company directorial debut after many successes as a set designer. And the Met has assembled a world-beating quartet of stars, conducted by Marco Armiliato, for the demanding principal roles. Soprano Lisette Oropesa and tenor Lawrence Brownlee are Elvira and Arturo, brought together by love and torn apart by the political rifts of the English Civil War, with baritone Artur Rucinski as Riccardo, betrothed to Elvira against her will, and bass-baritone Christian Van Horn as Elvira’s sympathetic uncle, Giorgio.

Broadway: Michael Cavanaugh in Concert - The Music of Billy Joel, Elton John, and More!
Michael Cavanaugh can be called the new voice of the American Rock and Roll Songbook. He’s a charismatic performer and musician made famous for his piano/lead vocals in the Broadway musical Movin’ Out. Handpicked by Billy Joel to star in Movin’ Out, Cavanaugh evokes a style that rivals the Piano Man in concert. He appeared in the show for three years and over 1,200 performances, and received multiple accolades for the role, including a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical. Reuters says: “Entertainer of the year!”
