Dr. Kishore Harjai Joins Piedmont Cardiovascular Practice in Macon

 Kishore Harjai, M.D., who is board certified in cardiovascular diseases and interventional cardiology, has joined Piedmont Heart Cardiothoracic Surgery at Macon.

Scheduled to begin seeing patients on Wednesday, Dec. 3, Dr. Harjai treats various conditions such as coronary artery disease, aortic stenosis, mitral regurgitation, atrial fibrillation and heart failure. He specializes in general, interventional and structural cardiology and is certified to perform heart valve repair and replacement, left atrial appendage occlusion repair, closure of holes in the upper two heart chambers and repair of atrial septal defects. He treats adults, including geriatric patients.

“I’m pleased to be in the Macon community and to begin caring for patients alongside my colleagues in this practice,” Dr. Harjai said. “Heart health is deeply personal to me, and my goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to make every patient feel informed and empowered. I look forward to building long-term relationships here and contributing to the overall health and well-being of Middle Georgia.”

After attending medical school at the University of Bombay in Mumbai, India, Dr. Harjai completed his residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio, and had advanced training at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans and William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.

At Piedmont Heart Cardiothoracic Surgery at Macon, Dr. Harjai joins cardiac surgeons Richard Harvey, M.D. and David Allen Langford, M.D., as well as Michelle Harmsen, a physician’s assistant, and Brooke Garretson, a nurse practitioner. The practice also includes David Wayne Markham, M.D., a heart failure and transplantation cardiologist from Atlanta who is in the Macon office one day each month.

In his free time, Dr. Harjai enjoys hiking, traveling, reading and watching movies.
